I am Glenn Young, a HydroMulch Contractor in the
Texas area who was one of the founding members of the “Hydro Turf Planters Association” in
1998. I have been HydroMulching Since 1981, 24 years at the time of this
writing.
Before HTPA’s creation, I held all my
knowledge as a closely guarded secret. If I needed help, I only knew of one
supplier 100 miles away & used his products exclusively. I did not know any
other reputable dealer. My supplier was great help & because of him, I
became a success in my work. My limitation was only because I had one
supplier, one source of knowledge. After the creation of HTPA, I was able to
meet other HydroMulchers in the business & exchange ideas and experiences
from which we gained friendship, knowledge and trust. These are people I
would never have met if HTPA had not happened.
I realized that sharing information with others betters
the Industry as a whole & increases work for all who participate. In 1998, I
had been HydroMulching 17 years and suddenly, I was learning new things,
seeing new products. I really enjoyed the opportunity to serve on the HTPA
Board until 2002.
In November 2004, the newly elected Board decided to
shut the doors of HTPA. I strongly urged them to at least keep the web site
going to help the Homeowners & New Contractors with industry related issues.
They declined and suggested that I do it if I thought it was important.
After talking to several other Members of HTPA and with
their help, I have been able to assemble the information you find here in
these pages. You will find a lot written by me, but my goal is to gather
information from all over to give other HydroMulch Contractors an outlet to
share that information. Another goal is to list every HydroMulch company,
Contractor, Supplier, Manufacturer and Product available in the USA, to
become the ultimate source for the contractor’s needs. This is a very large
undertaking, but I think it is necessary for our Industry to survive. I
would appreciate any help in gaining a great knowledgebase for both the
Homeowner & Contractor. Please feel free to submit writings on what you
know. Also, good photos are needed.
I feel very strongly that Homeowners should have a
source to learn more about our Industry and how it can help them grow a
successful lawn. I have found that my customers benefited from my web site
and that it helped them with their lawn before and after their purchase.
This in turn, should benefit our industry as a whole.
I want to thank:

Sean Gassman
Rick Hardy
And others
Hope you enjoy & learn something,
